Privacy Policy
How we handle information when you contact our independently owned electrical business.
Last updated: October 21, 2026
Brilliant Electric is an independently owned electrical services business serving Greater Vancouver, British Columbia. We respect your privacy and aim to be clear about what happens when you contact us through this website. This policy explains the personal information we may collect, why we use it, and how you can contact us about it.
1. Information we collect
When you call, email, book a consultation, or complete our online enquiry form, you may choose to share your name, email address, phone number, project location or city, type of electrical service, and details about your project. You may also provide photos or other information directly to Paul when discussing a job. Please avoid submitting payment card numbers, government identification, or other sensitive information through the enquiry form.
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically process limited technical information needed to deliver the website and protect it from misuse, such as IP address, browser information, request times, and diagnostic or security logs.
2. How we use your information
We use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry, discuss possible electrical services, arrange appointments, prepare or follow up on project details, maintain appropriate business records, and protect the website from spam or abuse. We do not sell personal information or use enquiry details for unrelated marketing without appropriate consent.
3. Contact forms and email delivery
Our website uses Netlify for hosting and may use Netlify Forms to receive contact enquiries. Form submissions may be stored in the website's Netlify account and, when notifications are enabled, sent to Paul's business email at paul.brilliantelectric@gmail.com. Email and online forms are not guaranteed to be completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information through them.
4. Third-party websites and embedded content
The site links to Google's appointment booking and Google Business Profile reviews. It also includes an embedded Instagram video and uses Google Fonts for typography. When you open external links or load third-party embedded content, those providers may process information according to their own privacy policies, including technical identifiers and cookies. We do not control their practices. Review the privacy information of Google, Instagram, and Netlify for more information.
5. Cookies and analytics
The current website does not intentionally set its own advertising cookies or operate a visitor analytics platform. Third-party embedded content and external services may use their own cookies or similar technologies. If we add analytics, advertising pixels, or other optional tracking tools, we will review the necessary consent and disclosure requirements and update this policy.
6. Sharing and processing
We may share relevant information with service providers who help operate our website, communications, appointment booking, or business systems, but only as reasonably necessary for those services. These providers may process information outside British Columbia or Canada, where different laws may apply. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, or property.
7. Retention and safeguards
We keep enquiry and project information for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, manage the business relationship, meet recordkeeping obligations, or resolve disputes. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards and restrict access to business information to people who need it. No electronic transmission or storage method is completely risk-free.
8. Access, correction, and your choices
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete information that is no longer needed, subject to legal or legitimate business retention requirements. You can also withdraw consent for optional uses of your information, where applicable. To make a request, contact us using the details below; we may need to verify your identity before responding.
9. Children
This website is intended for people seeking electrical services, not for children to submit personal information. If you believe a child has provided information through the site, please contact us.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the website, services, or legal requirements change. The revised version will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
